- 2 tablespoons butter
- 1 cup white rice (round grain)
- 3 cups chicken stock
- 1/2 teaspoon pepper
- Salt to taste
- In a small, deep pot, place oil and heat on lowest. Add rice (unwashed), and simmer for 5 minutes on lowest.
- Add 3 cups water, pepper and salt. Mix well. Cover the pot 3/4 of the way or all the way. Raise the temperature to medium and cook for about 15 to 20 minutes, stirring every few minutes.
- When there is still a little bit of water left on top (about the thickness of one finger), remove from the stove, stir everything well, and cover completely for 3-4 more minutes.
Vegan: use sunflower or other oil instead of butter.
